Just Imagine chooses students for camp based on three factors: great effort in a Title I D.C. school, good character, and positive relationships with peers and teachers. We rely on scholarships (both full and partial) to cover the majority of tuition costs, and we raise money to: provide transportation to and from camp, purchase camp supplies (clothing, shoes, toiletries, sleeping bags, etc.), offset canteen costs, and cover any remaining portion of tuition that was not subsidized by scholarships.

 

In 2016, Just Imagine expanded its mission to include preparation for college. Just Imagine provides enrichment opportunities throughout the school year which encourage personal growth, and provide exposure to new environments and experiences. We see sleep away camp as one crucial part of preparing inner city students to be well-rounded students, who are informed and ready for the college application process.
